Photographing birds is my main deal. In terms of the insect world, butterflies are pretty cool as well, so I have started snapping them every so often. However, I'm not a lepidopterist nor do I have any butterfly field guides at the moment, so I usually don't have an identification for these photos. 	I found a few butterflies while visiting family in Ardrossan September 27, 2003. Despite it being a fall day, the sun was out and it was warm. A few flowers were still blooming, and were the scene of a veritable feeding frenzy. 	This butterfly was sitting in the sun a little ways away from the ones above. 	This butterfly, the same species as the one two shots above on the white flowers, was one of the few good photo opportunities I had when we made a visit to Beaverhill Lake on August 10, 2003.
