While flowers are usually colorful and eye-catching, sometimes non-flowering plants catch our attention while we are out ambling around. Here are a few examples of flora that we have snapped.

This plant with its wavy, puffy, shimmering heads caught my eye while I was out looking for Black-crowned Night Herons one Saturday, August 23, 2003. They almost seem a bit marine. I wasn't the only one interested -- several bees wandered through the clump of puffs.
